Switzerland
Switzerland consists of 26 cantons, organized in a federal republic. The country is situated in Western Europe where it is bordered by Germany to the north, France to the west, Italy to the south, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east. The approximately 7.7 million Swiss inhabitants are split into three main linguistic and cultural regions: German, French, and Italian, to which the Romansh-speaking valleys are added.
Switzerland has much to offer. You will find medieval castles and ancient market towns, ramble over hill and dales, hike the high alpine trails, or visit exhibitions in the many regional museums…
Lausanne
Lausanne is located in the Western part of Switzerland, where the spoken language is French. With approximately 125’000 inhabitants it is Switzerland’s fifth biggest city.
Situated on the banks of Lake Geneva, and facing the Alps, Lausanne has much to offer: It hosts several theatres, an Opera house, and various museums, including one which is unique in the world: the Olympic Museum. In fact, since 1915 the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is headquartered in Lausanne. No wonder that Lausanne’s extensive cultural program is complemented by its numerous possibilities to enagage in sportive activity…
